果たして、煩悩は本当に108つなのか。
現世において煩悩の数は108では収まらない気がする。

しかし、今時、絶食系もいるので何かの欲のかわりに
別の欲が出ているだけで相対的には変わっていないのかもしれない。

ただ、何かをする上で何かを我慢するという行為自体は
結局あまり変わらないのかもしれない。

欲望と葛藤する姿を描いたこの絵の中に闇からお誘いの閻魔と
それに対抗する仏の顔が描かれている。

あなたはどちらの顔が強いですか？
この二面性があって初めて「人」です。

ちゃんと存在していますか？
どちらかを押し殺し過ぎていませんか？

Are there truly only 108 desires?
In this world, it feels as though they cannot be contained within that number.

Yet today, some deny even basic desires,
perhaps only replacing one with another—leaving the balance unchanged.

In the end, the act of restraining one desire in order to pursue another
may not have changed much at all.

Within this work, which depicts the struggle with desire,
there is Enma emerging from the darkness, and the face of Buddha resisting it.

Which face is stronger within you?
Only with this duality does one become truly human.

Do you truly exist?
Have you been suppressing one side too much?
